It's Not Easy Being Sneezy: A 7D Fanfic (Ch. 5)

A small cart approached the village of Jollywood. The boar pulling the vehicle along panted heavily before she came to a stop, where she promptly collapsed to the ground from exhaustion. The Glooms disembarked, carrying their wands and a book of spells.

"Atta girl, Peaches." Grim patted the pooped pig on the head as he passed her by.

"Let's see that spell." Hildy reached for the book her husband held. Grim hugged it close to his chest.

"Can I cast the spell, my sweet serpent? Please? Can I? Huh?"

"I suppose it's only fair, my horrid hunk. This was your idea, after all."

The wizard bounced up and down with delight. "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!" Flipping through the book's pages, he located the desired hex and raised his wand to the sky.

"Hold it!" Hildy interrupted to hand her mate a gas mask. "Put this on."

"Smart thinking, my prudent puddin' cup!" Grim complimented as he and Hildy donned their masks. "Now, let's curse those flowers! Or, I guess we should call them 'foul'-ers." Grim snickered at his own joke. "You know, because we'll be making them smell foul? Get it?"

"Do me a favor, my dearest, and don't try to make any more puns."

Grim cleared his throat obnoxiously loudly. Once again he held his wand high, an aura of magic emanating from its tip as he began to recite the incantation written in the tome:
"Stinky socks and smelly fish
Listen closely! Hear my wish!
Moldy trash and rotten meat
Stop these flowers from smelling sweet!"

All across the village, every flower lit up with the same blue glow as Grim's wand. There was a bright flash and immediately afterward each flower began to smell so horribly that all of Jollywood quickly filled with green fumes. The people who had been out and about keeled over, coughing and gagging from the wretched odor. Peaches took one whiff of the air and the normally sluggish swine headed for the hills faster than a cheetah.

"Wow. That must be one powerful stank," Grim observed.

Hildy snuggled up close to her consort. "I must admit, my whiz of a wizard, this plan of yours may actually work."

"It's only a matter of time now before you get to park your cutie patootie in that throne, Hildy-Wildy!" The dastardly duo celebrated their future victory with plenty of kissy noises.
